Duty towards God

In Islam, including the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the “Duty towards God” concept is central to a believer’s life. It refers to individuals’ responsibilities and obligations towards their Creator, Allah, as outlined in the teachings of the Holy Quran and the example set by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Obedience to God’s Commands: Muslims must follow the commandments of Allah as revealed in the Quran and through the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This entails living a righteous life, avoiding sinful actions, and striving to adhere to the ethical and moral teachings of Islam.

Seeking Knowledge: Muslims are encouraged to seek knowledge and understanding of Islam. This includes studying the Quran, Hadith (sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad), and the scholarly works of Islamic scholars to deepen their understanding of God’s guidance.

Gratitude and Remembrance: Believers need to express gratitude towards God for His blessings and provisions. Muslims are encouraged to remember and praise Allah frequently, through supplications, recitation of Quranic verses, and remembrance of His attributes.

Trust and Reliance on God: Muslims must rely on Allah in all aspects of life. This involves recognizing that all outcomes are ultimately in His hands and seeking His guidance and support in times of difficulty and decision-making.

Spreading God’s Message: Muslims must share the message of Islam with others and invite them toward the path of righteousness. This can be done through peaceful dialogue, exemplary conduct, and by providing a positive representation of Islam in society.

In the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, there is an added emphasis on the concept of “Love for All, Hatred for None,” which emphasizes promoting peace, tolerance, and understanding among people of different faiths and backgrounds, as an extension of one’s duty towards God.

Overall, the concept of “Duty towards God” in Islam and Ahmadiyyat encompasses various aspects of belief, worship, obedience, and service, all aimed at developing a strong relationship with Allah and fulfilling the purpose of human existence.
