The crime? Residing in an Ahmadi home. The punishment? Confiscation, condemnation, and perhaps, if books had wrists, a pair of handcuffs too.
This happened today in Bahawalnagar, Pakistanâa country where the ink of religious intolerance flows thicker than the ink of the law. The police, in their infinite wisdom, stormed into an Ahmadi household, seized the Qurâan, and, for good measure, arrested the family as well. After all, who gave them the right to read? To believe? To exist?
